Pitbull massacre, pitbull hero

(h/t to KC Dog Blog and YesBiscuit! for these)

People continue to kill them. They continue to serve. Who's the real monster? That question's for you, Honourable Chris Bentley, Ontario's Attorney General. Who's the real monster?

From Wag the Dog:

"We passed a ban on pit bulls to respond to the concerns of Ontarians about their personal safety, and we proudly stand behind that law."
- Chris Bentley, Attorney General for Ontario

I'm afraid that the guy in the Loyalty of a Pitbull video is not doing PB owners any favours. It's a great story of how the dog saved his child, but he really needs to cut the 44 bit out if it. He is just perpetuating the stereotype that only aggressive people have aggressive dogs.

Yeah, that .44 part may be a bit too Charlton Heston for some people's tastes but the dog is still a hero.

Is the story behind the Titus rescue in text anywhere? Someday I have to get speakers....

Probably not but the guy is basically talking about how just that morning his Pit Bull alerted him to the fact that his kid was strangling himself in some blinds' drawstring in another room. He just got to his kid in time and obviously the kid wouldn't be alive if not for his dog. Then the guy goes on to say that if anyone ever tries to take his dog away, there'd be a .44 waiting for them and that the only way anyone could take his dog is to pry the dog away from his dead, cold hands.

I am not an aggressive owner, but I sure would be if someone tried to take my dog!
Titus is such a cute superhero!

Great story but I don`t consider this man aggressive due to his comment.I would do the same thing to protect a family member and our dogs are members of the family.
I don`t consider myself violent or aggressive.

I would be just like this man! Let someone come to my door and attempt to take my puppies! They would not get out of the house unharmed cause I will put anyone in pain if they took my puppies! Pit bulls are NOT BAD DOGS/PUPPIES! Its the human race that give pit bulls a bad reputation!

I would do the same for my pitbull. The other evening while watching a movie with the surround sound on, I did not hear a group of guys running and shouting in my front lawn. With "ALERTNESS" not "AGRESSION" (don't confuse the two, which a lot of you ignorant people tend to do) runs to the door. By the time I looked out my window four men about early 20s had jumped the fence to get in our neighbors backyard and 2 teens were still climbing the fence. Who knows what those kids would have done, for all I know they could have been attempting to break into my house, but got spooked by a sudden bark. EVERYONE animal and human alike, our instincts is to PROTECT. Luna has shown that she is willing to protect me, so yes i would do the same for her. Anyone only knows what they are taught.
